Asset & Equipment Finance
Finance the asset without stalling the business.
Vehicles, trucks, trailers, plant, machinery and fit-outs — structured so the repayment profile matches how the asset actually earns, and settled fast enough to meet the delivery date.
- New, used and private sale
- Dealer and vendor settlements
- Low-doc options available
What we fund
Motor vehicles and light commercial
Utes, vans and passenger vehicles held in a company or trust name for business use.
Trucks, trailers and yellow goods
Prime movers, rigids, tippers, excavators, loaders and attachments — new, used, dealer or private sale.
Plant and production machinery
CNC and fabrication equipment, packaging lines, materials handling, and specialised production plant.
Fit-outs and soft assets
Commercial kitchens, medical and dental equipment, IT and point-of-sale — including assets with limited resale value, where terms differ.
How it gets structured
Most of the value in an asset finance deal is in the structure rather than the headline rate. The variables interact, and getting them wrong costs more than a few basis points ever will.
- Product choice
- Chattel mortgage, finance lease, operating lease or hire purchase. The right one depends on GST registration, how the asset is treated in your accounts, and whether you intend to own it at the end. Worth a conversation with your accountant, and we'll have it with you.
- Balloon or residual
- A balloon lowers the monthly repayment but leaves a lump sum at the end. Typical residuals run higher on vehicles than on plant, and funders cap them by asset type and term. Set it against the asset's real useful life, not the lowest possible repayment.
- Term against asset age
- Funders assess the asset's age at the end of the term, not the start. This is the single most common reason a used-equipment deal gets declined, and it's identifiable on day one.
- Dealer versus private sale
- Private sales need inspection and PPSR clearance, and not every funder will fund them. Knowing which will, before you commit to the purchase, avoids losing a deposit.
What we'll need
For straightforward low-doc deals under common thresholds, often just the first three.
- Supplier quote or invoice, with serial or VIN
- Director identification
- ABN and entity details, including trust deed where relevant
- Recent business bank statements
- BAS lodgements or an ATO integrated client account statement
- Financials and tax returns for full-doc or larger facilities
- Payout letter, where you're refinancing or trading in
Where this gets difficult
We'd rather tell you on day one. These are the situations that make asset finance hard, and none of them is automatically fatal — but they change which funders will look at it.
- A very new ABN with no trading history and no property to support the deal
- Older used equipment where the age at end of term exceeds funder limits
- Assets with thin resale markets — highly specialised or purpose-built plant
- Unresolved ATO arrears without a payment arrangement in place
- Private sales where the seller can't provide clear title
Tell us the scenario.
We respond within one business hour, 8am–6pm ACST. If it isn’t fundable we’ll say so, and tell you what would need to change.
